Any harm to leaving my SACD player on all the time to toslink input?

I have an Esoteric K-05 SACD / DAC.  I run my XBox One S's optical out to the optical input on the Esoteric and just leave the player on all the time; so I don't need to turn it back on and select the optical input via the mode switch.  I know...I'm lazy, but I have kids and I'm trying to make thing easy for them too.

Is it okay to leave this thing on all the time?  With the rest of the system off, the Esoteric's screen blinks constantly with 'Opt' on the display screen.  I guess it is searching for a signal.  Will this mess up or burn in the LED display?

I am considering getting a cheap (relative) little DAC just for the XBox as an alternative.  Considering things like Cambridge DacMagic 100.  Ideas?

Thanks,
Jason

@Jasonism, In the case of your Esoteric player, because it is a well built solid state player, I wouldn’t see any issue with leaving it on 24/7. Though I’d suggest checking the manual to see if you can switch the display off. You don’t want to have to bring your player in prematurely to replace an led or diode in the display. If it was a tubed CD player, leaving on the player 24/7 would be unadvisable.

The only caveats are you should have robust surge/spike/over-voltage protection upstream of your system. Clipsal, Carling Technologies and other companies provide good domestic solutions. Some power conditioners such as Gigawatt also incorporate surge and over-voltage protection. The other caveat is, If you leave your player on all the time, make sure you turn the player off (incl: mains power) before jiggling or removing the power cable to your player (and I know from whence I speak).
I have an Esoteric K 03 that I leave on 24/7 except when I’m away for an extended period of time. I’ve done this since 2012 with no issues. I’ve been told this is fine as long as the tray is empty because the reader will constantly try to read the disk. How true this is I’m not certain. Now that I say this I’ll have an issue with my luck.
Based on an article in TAS a year or so ago, I find that CD's sound better when my streamer is not connected to the DAC in my CDP and is in fact unplugged...Aesthetix Romulus Eclipse
@melbguyone thanks for the response and suggestions. I do have a Shunyata Talos conditioner where I plug in all of my components.

@hanki thanks for the tip on leaving a disc in the player. I always leave a disc in, so that might be a serious consideration as I don’t want to prematurely wear out the mechanical parts.

@jl35 that’s interesting. I have an Auralic Aries mini streamer connected to the Esoteric CD players via SPDIF. I also, as I originally posted, have an XBox One S connected to it via TOSLINK. Are you saying that the inputs are not isolated from the CD section?

Thanks to all for the feedback. Much appreciated.
I have no idea why, but I do not think anything is truly isolated, either in our equipment or our homes. I read in these forums years ago, a recommendation from Charles Hansen of Ayre, that we should unplug our entire video systems when doing critical music listening...I also have found this to help in my system
I am lucky my Marantz SA-10 when connected to an 'on' digital source can stay dark. The switch to turn off the display works if a signal is coming in. SO 24/7 for the Marantz with it switched to the Toslink. Nothing lit up except a very tiny/ very dim little LED the size of a pinhead. Some displays go bad if left on 24/7.The displays on my built in 1994/1995 etc five disc changers, some have been on for more than ten years. and the display is STILL just as bright as day one.
If it is just for the kids, I certainly WOULD go buy a cheap DAC to use. Plenty of nice used DACs dirt cheap too.
