I just ran across this thread and I am interested in meeting the group if that's ok. I live in the city and caught the audiophile bug a couple years ago and, like most of us, don't have the time/inclination to visit stores to really listen to a lot of different equipment (I always feel obliged to buy something if I've used up a lot of a salesperson's time). It would be interesting to hear what others have come up with.
