Bi wire and powered woofers

I'm the owner of a pair of Paradigm personas, and they have powered woofers, 4 per speaker.
They can be bi wired, but I"m curious what effect this will have , given they have their own amps for the woofers.
Anyone have a technical reason why it should be better? Just curious as they sound great in the single config with the factory jumpers.

If the woofer inputs are high impedance inputs, then zip wire would work and might sound better than single wiring with fancy cables. :)

We used to use this kind of configuration, the high impedance inputs were pretty much cable insensitive.

dweller, I don't think so, but then again I've never asked. Given I us a 30W class A amp with them, I'd have to switch amps as well to test this out. The speakers have built in 1400 W of power, with 2 700W amps per speaker, so I'd somehow have to replace that power.
I'm more interested in the theoretical rational of bi wiring in this instance, vs the conventional non powered speakers . I do have an old pair of Verbatim bi-wires , that I used with my VSA VR-4 jr's, but given the cable brands are different , it's probably not a fair comparison. Enjoying my new speakers, just asking a question I'm curious about..

I have resisted on buying the 9H's ...just resisting based on cost.  Congrats on the purchase.

I am a big believer in better speaker cable quality for both jumper and internal.  I've heard the difference.  On the 9H, I know the input to the DSP/Woofer section is very high impedance so your 30W amp wont even notice the additional current draw ...so dont bother with a second amp.  What i'd suggest instead:
  • The top binding post (to which you connect your amp) is a direct connection to the tweeter/mid  - so use this connection
  • The woofer section's 500Hz crossover does not put extreme demands on a better jumper cable but I would still match it with whatever you are using.
  • I've had a paradigm factory tour and see the nice silver wire they use for internal connection. However, I would be tempted to rewire this with a higher end speaker cable.
This is what I would do if I had a 9H.  good luck
