Can't remove subplatter

As you pull upward spin it around in the bearing as well, as if it is playing an LP. That should work.

Why are you removing it? Rega recommends against removing the sub platter; they even ship it with the sub platter in the bearing. Then again, they also recommend against cleaning the stylus so take that with a grain of salt.

 It worked! I got it off.
I didn't realize how it was attached. My pulling wasn't going to break
anything.

 I'm replacing it with an aluminum platter.  The consensus is that this 
replacement is one of the best tweaks you can make to a Rega turntable.
i just ordered the new subplatter and wanted to see how to remove the old one.
