Cerious Technologies NEW Graphene Cables

Now, this is not a advertisement, just a posting sharing my experience on some well made great sounding cables at a very reasonable price. Besides, I don't think Cerious Technologies is set up for a big influx of cable orders.

But, if you get the chance to try these cables, please do.

I have been interested in the newer cables coming out that are using Graphene as a conductor. SR cables seemed interesting, but I always hated the way there cables had all those extra wires (with the active shields and such). I then noticed an ad early in I think November or December from Cerious Technologies for Graphene cables. I investigated how the cables were assembled and it seemed like quite a laborious process.

I ordered (with a 30 day money back guarantee) the balanced Graphene interconnects, and boy did they impress me. Such depth, soundstage, realism, frequency smoothness, effortless sound. I was truly impressed!  I now have a complete loom of the Cerious Technologies Graphene cables. That is; interconnects, speaker cables, digital cables and power cords.

I ended up selling all of my other cables and to those of you who have read my postings know that cables have always been my curiosity.

So, as I began this post, let me again iterate, I have no alliance to the company, my posting is for those of you looking for an great alternate high quality Graphene made cable without spending a fortune.

This thread has piqued my interest and I may want to dip my toe into graphene. I had the Nano Ref SC before, nice but they weren't keepers then.

The idea of dealing with a small company here in the US is also very appealing, I have great experiences with the likes of PAD, Silent Source, CH Acoustic, etc.

Ozzy, comparing the HD cables (I have/had, a.o. the P4 PC and D8 SC) vs Graphene Extreme, which type (speaker, power) stands more out?
Larry, I am very interested to hear your comments on the power cord, esp how it compares to the HiDiamond P4 and the HFC power cords you own/owned.

I have now a pair of the GE IC (unbalanced) in my library system, directly from iDAC DSD to Aragon8008 and they sound very good, more break in maybe needed.

jeony, would love to hear your comments if you A/B against the AU24SSE RCA.
Thanks, that is very promising news indeed!

Now what did you replace the GE cord with? I am debating getting an HFC CT1-E power cord, another HiDiamond P4 (both of which you are very familiar with) or the GE HC that you just got.
A/B’ed the GE IC vs my DIY Western Electric 16ga IC terminated with cheap Canare F10 RCA connectors (which IME bested some entry level IC like HD 2 and Audience AU24e) in my library setup: the GE IC sounded more open, about the same amount of detail, vocals were a little bit better with the WE. Then A/B’ed against my DIY WE 16ga with one added silver wire (7N+copper) and ICs terminated with WBT Nextgen 110Cu: better extension at both ends, faster, overall better in that system. The GE IC is a keeper but I would not be surprised if there will be a GE premium version with different connectors.

Looking forward to the arrival of both the standard and high current version of the power cord.
ozzy, here on the Gon there are three threads, one dedicated, that talks about the NOS Western Electric (I got the info here but it started earlier at Jeff Day’s blog). The WE it is/was available from 10ga to 22ga. I use 14 and 16ga for IC, 10ga for SC and PC.

As mentioned, I am very pleased with the GE and love to source from an "one man" shop, having had great experience with Jim @PAD and others. Prices are absolutely very reasonable.

I bought the GE PC based on the feedback here; actually, Lak (thanks for your comments here) triggered my purchase for the PC as I know he has/had quite a bit of great PC in his systems.

Thanks ozzy for bringing the new GE cables to our attention, as you did with other goodies!

Calloway, thanks for your comments! So there is no downside comparing the CT GE vs HFC CT-1 power cord? I am also curious to hear your comments re the CPT PC as I do believe balanced power has a lot of inherent benefits.

lancelock: I sold my LL DPFC sig and Ref PC long time ago, not bad but definitely not the best. I could not get used to its timbre.

Glad to see CT offers such a great value proposition! Hope the money "saved" goes into other categories like isolation, room treatment (if possible), etc.

Commendable effort by calloway & team, thank you!  This review will likely serve as a guideline for many. I wonder you would repeat the process for the interconnects. IME there is a pretty good difference between the HFC CT1-U and CT GE (I wished there wasn't any).
For my 2nd system, I am heading to a full loom CT GE, incredible value/money provided here. This "downcabling" process enabled me to redistribute resources elsewhere in the chain.

Interesting to learn about the CPT-300 which seems to be a good candidate for my DAC.

+1 re regular cable conditioning, one could add playing rejuvenation CD and cleaning contacts with Gold DeoxIT.
Here is an excerpt from Boston Globe:
"...Novak Djokovic, who says the racquet will "give [his] game even more speed and control." Though whether or not that’s directly due to the graphene is anyone’s guess. ..."

More speed and control sounds perfect for driving my speakers!

Rob is right, he explains how it is being used. Most manufacturers remain vague. Again an excerpt from the Globe (different article):
"..The race is on to see which companies, in which industries, focus more on marketing the word GRAPHENE, and which focus more on using the material to make substantially better products. .."

Thanks lak for the comments on the CT GE digital cable, looks like I need to add another item on my order for Bob.
Hi Bob, hug and a belated congrats back to you! Your business philosophy is a very sound one with your current product offerings.

As for some of the comments, I prefer a longer wait for a product with extreme price/quality ratio than what the industry average offers.

John, I thought you went through the renovations before or it this the second iteration?
+1 jond on rating the GE cables, the SC are quite astonishing considering their price point.

John, the GE is way better than the Nano Signature I had in my system, simply no comparison. C'mon, it's just a fraction of the costs of the HFC cables you had....

As IC, I use a mix of GE and HFC CT1-U in my main system.

+1 lak, I have the same experience re GE and CPT. I esp appreciate Bob's speaker cables.

/Dave (dlcockrum): I understand where you are coming from and at times many like us have been fooled. But considering the price of GE cables and the sincere comments - I always read other postings by the same poster to spot a potential shill (there are plenty at the longest threads in cables) - should give you some confidence to try one for just a couple Benjamins. Unless you are totally DIY, IME the GE versions offer unsurpassed quality for the value (for now).
