Cincinnati, OH, any audiophiles?

Any Cincinnati, OH -based audiophiles on this forum? I have found only one truly high end dealer here, and they are leaning more and more towards high end home theater so they tend to be quite busye, and no longer set up truly "reference" systems one can listen to for calibration. Would love to get into touch with other fellow maniacs in the area Hard to know what else you "need" unless you can hear it and covet it in someone else's set up!

Hey Cincinnati People,

I can't go and call myself a real "audiophile" yet, because I haven't reached the $1000 mark in total investment. That has to be a criterion, right? So I'll say I'm an appreciator of high quality sound with discerning tastes. I don't think I've ever heard a true high-end setup, but I'm really happy with what I have right now. I'm hoping someone on this thread can direct to a place local to downtown Cincy where I can hear some good equipment.

I'm 24 and I moved here about a year ago, so I'm probably not as hardcore about the Bengals, Reds, or Skyline Chili as your average Cincinnatian, but I'm learning.

Anyway, thanks for putting this thread together.

Happy New Year! I just thought I would post something for 2010 so anyone surfing these pages wouldn't assume the Cincinnati audiophile scene is dead.

Any cool Cincinnati music goings-on? Find a new great spot to buy vinyl or try out gear? Drop a line!
Just a heads up, I'm going to be posting my Thiel 2.2 speakers on here pretty soon, and I wanted any Cincinnati audiophiles to get first crack at them. You can see them in my virtual system, and I was planning on posting them for $700. And since you're local, you would be welcome to come by and have a listen!

Over the Rhine had their new CD launch at Joseph Beth Booksellers at Rookwood Commons tonight, giving a free concert and signing CDs and posters. The new CD is entitled The Long Surrender. I think most Cincinnati audiophiles should be familiar with the band, as they are from here and have some of the most well-mastered stuff out there. This CD takes it to a whole new level with producer Joe Henry crafting an amazing album.

If you want to really hear some instruments in space, check out track #9, "The King Knows How." Absolutely incredible.
Does anyone know where I could hear some Totem Arro speakers in Cincinnati? I would be fine going to a store or a home setup if you knew someone.

Thanks,
Dusty
