Dynavector 17D3 w/Audio Research SP15

AEW,I own a highly modded SP-15(Great Northern Sound Mods),and have to tell you the gain is quite sufficient.It is actually "70",so even low output MC's will work.Btw,this is a superb pre/phono,and can stand up to some big hitters.

Listen to the Speedy one on this ...

I have a FAQ on system gain and what it means. Like all numbers, you still have to give a listen. A noisy circuit with theoretically enough gain will drive you out of the room ... or not ... depending on your tolerance for this sort of thing.

Like effective mass / resonant frequency equations, you'll at least know combinations which absolutely won't work.

I am using the 17D3 with an ARC PH3SE, which has a gain of 59 I think, and it is sufficient gain for me anyway...it sounds real nice too! :)
