I used a Netgear Poweline 1200 from an outlet next to my router in the basement to an outlet on the 2nd floor next to my Node2. After installing signal went from very week to very strong with no cutouts.

An Ethernet over power line adapter should do the job. The signal was strong with no drop outs. However, it was strongly suggested by my retailer and my friends that a hard wired connection was the best especially for my Aurender Music Server. I switched to an Ethernet cable connection and agree the sound quality was better (for me). I suggest you contact an electrician to determine if a CAT 6 cable could be run into your location. I also hired an electrician and he worked miracles and the cost was reasonable. Electricians are trained to run wires in very difficult spaces including 2 level homes. Besides, they like the wiring challenge. I needed to add an Luxul XGS-1008 switch box to complete the connection and everything is working fine. Or, you could also experiment with an Ethernet over wire adapter and see how it works. If not, you can always return them. |
