For all you Clapton fans....

I am a huge Eric Clapton fan and have followed everything he has done. I have seen him on three occasions, one of them when he was not at his best. How many of you know about his "blues" virtuosity. A recording called Eric Clapton Blues Polydor 314 547 178-2 I have it on a 2 disc cd set, and it showcases some of his greatest performances, both studio and live. There are also some tracks, such as Ain't That Loving You, a studio track, which can easily show you what your system is really made of. I guarantee a must have for all !

Marakanetz, I understand what you are saying and agree with you. Much of my blues listening does not contain super technical playing for me to enjoy it. I started the thread because I have met so many people who do not know this side of Clapton. For the super technical players, this would be another thread altogether(maybe there is one already). Thanks for the response guys.
I refer everyone to the "Best" forum here on Audiogon to get other takes on Clapton. Marakanetz is saying he is not the best, and, that is his opinion. There are more virtuoso players, if this is what you listen for. I, however, listen to a lot of Clapton, playing anything and everything. This to me says all that's needed to be said as to how I feel about Clapton.
Marakanetz, you brought up the term virtuoso. One does not need to be virtuoso to be enjoyed, as everyone on this thread is indicating. EC blues, I mean rocks !
Marakanetz, I was not attacking you. I did feel you were a bit critical of EC for not being "virtuoso". However, you did change the direction of this thread......If you really sound like EC, can I be one of your girls and be played and sung to. LOL. Only kidding......
Marakanetz, I am the one who mentioned it 1st. Duh ? It is all good. And yes, there is a Mrs., so you will not be playing for me. Sorry. LOL
