Depends on what you want to spend. You can find Sennheiser HD600,s for as low as $299.00. I just purchased Sennheiser HD580's for $169.00 from Music Direct. They sound almost as nice as HD600,s. Web address, amusicdirect.com

VERY different sound. Lots of detailed reviews on head-fi.org. Most folks like or the other.

Simply put:

The Grado has a warm "house sound" -Very detailed and sounds the best with strings, etc.(because of the wooden housing. Somewhat agressive, but that can be overcome with flat pads for $30.

The Senns have a darker sound. More nuetral - somewhat veiled detail. That can be overcome by getting the right amp, replacing the cable, etc. Best piano reproduction headphone I've heard. Better soundstage.
