How do designers fare when they change companies?

.
Mark Levinson, Bob Carver, Nelson Pass, Dan D'Agostino all started somewhere else and moved to start a new company.

Some of the guys at Infinity speakers left to start Genesis.

Dan D'Agostino has left Krell and rolled out with his own line of amps.

I'm sure there are others that I don't know about that are not mentioned above. Of the ones I've mentioned above, it seems Nelson Pass may have fared the best. Who are the success stories guys that have moved on?

David Hafler went from Dynaco to start his own company. Carl Marshasato [ phonetic spelling] has been several places. Tim de Parravicini [also probably misspelled] has been with Luxman before EAR. In England several of the better designers work as independent consultants or have been with several companies. Martin Colloms, Ben Duncan, Stan Curtis, Robin Marshall come to mind. Derek Hughes started at Spendor, his families' company, and moved to Harbeth. In general the designer tells you more than the company name.
