How do designers fare when they change companies?

.
Mark Levinson, Bob Carver, Nelson Pass, Dan D'Agostino all started somewhere else and moved to start a new company.

Some of the guys at Infinity speakers left to start Genesis.

Dan D'Agostino has left Krell and rolled out with his own line of amps.

I'm sure there are others that I don't know about that are not mentioned above. Of the ones I've mentioned above, it seems Nelson Pass may have fared the best. Who are the success stories guys that have moved on?

One of the quietest guys in the industry is Kevin Voecks. He ran an audio store in Massachusetts, then started designing loudspeakers for Symdex. From there he moved to designing the excellent Mirage speaker line and after the untimely demise of Peter Snell took over design duties at Snell. He is currently the chief designer at Revel. He extensively used the purpose built facilities at the NRC in Canada and is associated with Floyd Toole, et al.
