In order to convert 6 channels into two you would need to connect 3 amps in parallel for each speaker and that is dangerous. Amplifier was not designed for that. Most likely each channel has slightly different gain and phase shift resulting in one amplifier driving another. They might also become unstable, since each amp has complex multiple feedbacks. This amp has 6 separate channels (that are not bridgeable) and you cannot really do anything else with them.
Latest ICEpower 1200AS2 based amplifier news / updates / reviews / opinions
Hard to find any current info on the ICEpower 1200AS2 based amplifier / news / updates / reviews / opinions It seems the chatter over the 1200AS2 has slowed and was hoping by this time to hear more user input to
help in the decision making process , as it's time to repower my theaters front mains .
Almost pulled the trigger on a ATI AT543NC , then the ICEpowerd Apollon AS3600 caught my attention .
It gives you 3 x Icepower 1200AS2 amplifier modules and If only inputs 1 and 3 and 5 are connected then it will work as a true dual mono stereo amplifier delivering 1250Watt @4ohm and 620W @8ohm per channel.
The Apollon seems very tempting . The ATI has nothing but positive feedback , along with being USA made & 7 yr warranty.
The system is used primarily used for movies & concert dvds .
