New Tweak --- Its Fantastic

THE NEW TWEAK

Over the good part of this past year I’ve been beta testing a new tweak, the name of which is "Total Contact." Its a hi-bred graphene contact enhancer that is different from all other contact enhancers that have come and gone for one reason or another. I’m not new to these contact enhancers, having had quite a bit of experience with a product developed by the late Brian Kyle and his "Quick Silver" contact enhancer. The "Total Contact" is different ... a LOT different.

"Total Contact" is graphene based and is not a vibration control. It eliminates micro-arching between two contacts. Micro-arching, much like Micro-vibration smears the sound in our stereo systems. Its the type of distortion that we don’t know is there .... until we eliminate it. There is no break-in as we know it. The sound is improved right off the bat, but what you hear is only a smidgen of what’s to come.

I tested three generations of "TC," each of which was an improvement over the previous incarnation. The final mix was cryogenitically treated and made for a more effective, much smoother application. It comes in a large hypodermic needle type plunger containing 1.5 ml of product and includes a instructional DVD and an application brush.

The application should be applied with a very thin coat to all of your electrical connections .... from your cartridge pins to your power cords. I did my entire system, including the ends of my fuses.

Upon initial application, you will notice an improvement in clarity, correctness of tonal balance and a more overall organic sound. But ... that is just scratching the surface of what this magic paste does. As it cures, the improvements become more apparent. Much more!

There are two real break-through events that happen almost to the day with "Total Contact," one at four weeks and another at eight weeks . At four weeks, you’ll get a real jump in clarity and overall improvement. That’s only a taste though of what’s to come at eight weeks. At eight weeks your system’s focus will make a jump in SQ that is so real - its surreal.

After 40 years in the hobby, and a total tweak nut, I have never heard anything that does what this graphene paste does. The see-through clarity at eight weeks becomes simply amazing. The "paste" eventually cures into a kind of polymer plastic and it seems that the sound improves with each listening session. So, its important that you leave your contacts alone for the duration. If you’re the type of person that continually switches wires in and out, you’ll have to re paste until enough time has elapsed to get "the cure."

The only problem I had was with the first batch and that had to do with shorting out a tube pin in the line stage. Use the "TC" very sparingly on tube pins, if at all. I only had problems with the line stage tube pins. The Amp, CD Player and Phono Stage has had no tube pin problems at all.

Tim Mrock, one of our fellow A’goners, is the developer of the product. Its taken Tim 15 years and several patents to get it right. Tim has "pasted" every electrical contact he can find in his audio system, all of the switches in his circuit breaker box, every contact in his car ... and has used it in commercial applications such as hospital circuit breakers, surgical lights ... and other places where efficiency and long life of electrical components are deemed important.

This product is highly recommended to anyone who truly wants to get the most out of his/her audio systems. There’s enough product in each tube to do at least two audio systems as it just takes a very thin coat on each application to be effective. The last tube was enough to do my system twice and then a friend’s system this past weekend.

PS: There were a couple of other A’goner beta testers of this product as well. Hopefully, they will chime in here with their experiences for comparison. I "pasted" both of Steve Fleschler’s systems a few days ago, perhaps he will comment on his results too. We forgot to paste Steve’s power cords though, so there’s a lot more to be had from Steve’s two fantastic systems.

Ha! Just when we thought shysters had milked naive audiophiles of all but their loose change, up comes even better "contact enhancement."  I'll now sign off and continue to chuckle.
"Marketing Ploy!". Holy moly, Geoff...I didn't think you would recognize one.  I totally respect you know.  Well....kinda, sorta.
oreganpapa sez: "You can totally rely on one thing ... none of the genius naysayers in this and the fuse threads will have the testicular fortitude to step forward and be the first in line to buy it."

Really?  It takes balls to buy a useless product?  Those that understand the psychology of expectation bias and the brevity of audio memory with regards to subtle micro-changes (if they exist at all), don't need balls to buy this product...they already have the smarts to see it for what it is - a waste of money.

I likely love music and audio as much as you do but I suspect you have thrown way more money at it than I..and you likely do not enjoy it more.
I would not agree that Randy-11 is "out of step" just because his opinion (like mine) is to generally disagree with the efficacy of most audio "tweaks" that have no basis in science or reality.

The OP says this product is a cure for the "smearing" of sound in our systems.  I've never detected any smearing in mine.  Why would anyone with any sense pay $300.00 for 25 cents worth of paste that accomplishes nothing.
OK, tommylion, I get your point.  But I would not "try it" because it seems to be advertised to fix a problem I do not have, has a ridiculous price tag and reminds me of green magic marker on the edge of CDs and wooden blocks to elevate cables.

Since you used the word, I could, but will not, opine that those who get sucked it to this kind of voodoo magic are ignorant.

Additionally, having a different opinion on this subject is not stirring the pot...it is called disagreeing.
"Green marker on the outer edge of the CD and Black marker on the inner edge. Old school as it gets and almost scientific. More air, more dynamics and more detail. More analog than analog. "

"Say it ain't so, Joe....please tell me it ain't so" (that you believe this fairy tale).
at thecarpathian: Great post!!

You will find, I think, that the answers to your questions will not be provided.  You will just be informed that all that matters is that after applying this expensive goo, "my system sounded jaw-droppingly better."  Many here will rush to get there order in based merely on that appraisal.  And then there are you and I and a few others who are still scratching our heads in disbelief.

Also....be aware that our questions and skepticism are important to the discussion.  They call us "nay-sayers" but some newbies on this forum need to read both sides so they aren't unduly swayed by posters (with thousands of posts) who spout clearly impossible claims.

When I spend money on my system it is typically for equipment upgrades and not useless bling.
Frank is getting a little upset that any one calls him on a product that, in addition to being overpriced, appears to surely be without merit.  Should he provide documentation relative to all the " time, money and hard work spent to bring such a product to market" we might....I say again might...be better able to determine whether this product is the snake oil is appears to be.  Surely someone (the manufacturer?) has research documentation that describes how this "paste" was formulated to mitigate all the micro-bursting going on at all my contact points, what the cost of production and marketing is and how he came to the retail price of $300.00.
"My advice to tweak manufacturers, never explain anything."

Moot advice...They already don't explain anything.  Likely because they don't understand it themselves but they market it very well to those who are easily separated from their money.
LED lamps brighter, rear projection TVs better colors and blacks!! Wow! Amazing that Mitsubishi and GE were never smart enough to think of using this stuff.

And, holy moly, we’re not talking subtle differences like what you achieve with $37K worth of Nordhost Odin connects...we are obviously talking about night and day improvements via any connect that conducts electrical energy or audio signals. Wall Street look out when this paste goes public. It will not be denied!!
Come on, Frank. This discussion is not about me it is about the super-goo. It's not about my system, it is about the super-goo.   It is not about how you rate my credibility it is about...get ready...the super-goo.

Hey, BTW...I went out to my garage and noticed my air compressor.  Think the super-goo on it's contacts (both ends of the power cord) would get me an extra 10PSI in the tank?

The only pot I'm stirring here is a vat of...yep, you got it...super-goo!
Slap that paste on the terminals of your Tesla battery.  No kidding...bet you can do zero to 60 in less than 3 seconds.  Being serious here.  If super-goo can make LED lights brighter, there is no limit to the possibilities!
If Frank (the OP) were selling a car he manufactured it would be advertised by him thusly:

My automobile is gorgeous but you have to buy it before you see it.  It has a twin cylinder engine that gets 800mpg, Goes zero to 60 in 2 seconds; has a top end of of 245mph and will pull a 4000 ton trailer.  No, sorry, you cannot test drive it.

It has leather, A/C and all the goodies you would normally find in a luxury  performance automobile.  What?  No, I'm sorry there is no warranty at all and it cannot be returned.

No...there was no science or engineering in it's design and if any research was done, the data is not available to consumers.  Besides...why do you care about that?  It's just not important.

But it is a great product and I'm expecting the market to quickly prove how wonderful it truly is.  Trust me!

And...if you question why you cannot see it before buying, has no warranty, cannot be returned or the absence of development test data to validate performance, I'll just opine that anyone that asks such questions is a dummy.

Thank God he doesn't sell real estate!!
Ha! My relatively polite counter post to Frank (the OP) referring to my post as stupid and inane has been removed.  Since his consistently aggressive and unprofessional posts have not been removed, I guess we know who is responsible.

I know the constitutional right to free speech does not apply to a forum like this....but, come on, Frank!
If this stuff actually does all that is claimed (not just audio connections) and you were slick enough to market it to national/international electrical equipment manufacturers, you could be the next Bill Gates.

Only problem is that these manufacturers would actually test the stuff in a scientific way.  None of the graphene products heretofore seem to have made any industrial impact.
Oh, Frank!  If I can "destroy" a product by making counter-comments about it on this little micro-forum, then it must not be much of a product to begin with.

Surely the manufacturer didn't spend 15 years of R&D on this stuff and then believe that this Audiogon forum, this little one, would be his only marketing platform?  Tell me, if he really believes this product has merit, that his business focus is not that narrow and naive.
@ ps: Holy Moly! 30 times as much for 1/6th the cost!!

Perhaps the Audiogon Forum way to tell how good something is merely by how little you get and/or how much more it costs. Clearly if it is less expensive, you would be a "sucker" to buy it when there is something way more expensive you could get instead. Is the rule here that the more expensive something is the better it has to be? Hmmmm....thus the pricing on OP’s super goop.

I’d google this rule but I suspect I wouldn’t be surprised.

While I hear a violin playing in the background, I wonder when defensive whining will stop and answers to legitimate questions posed here will begin to appear?

You cannot market a product on a single forum with vague, unsubstantiated promises that it works (no research data) and then expect the product to do well when it is priced well outside of existing market limits.  That defies common business sense.

Don't shoot the messenger, answer the message.
You go back and re-read all these posts. I NEVER said that.

If you are "under attack" and don’t want to be; change your defensive (I’ll slap back) attitude. While that may make you feel more manly, it is doing little to promote your one and only product on it’s one and only marketing platform.
OP said

"My first reaction after the initial application to the entire system was wow. After the four week break-in period the wow went to WOW. At eight weeks the WOW went to ... Thank you sweet Jesus! Bless you Tim!!"

It is these kinds of over-the-top, exaggerated claims that shoot down the credibility of those promoting a "tweak."  The four and eight week "Super-WOWs" further degrade believibility.  Dude...this is a tweak, a small thing, something that (maybe) provides a very subtle, not necessarily audible, change.  And you are going so far as to thank the Baby Jesus???

I agree with thecarpathian and I think you will find that most people who are well off financially (and didn’t get their money from mommy and daddy) got that way by being frugal, understanding the difference between wants and needs and comprehending the definition of value (quality divided by price). Sam Walton is a interesting example.

Blindly throwing $300 at 1.5ml of completely unproven product based on the rave reviews of a couple people you don’t even know is the exact opposite of what I mentioned in the paragraph above.
Super-Goop supporters are becoming more bold and outspoken as new "believers" chime in.  They think this makes a difference.

Subtle differences provided by contact slime (even if audible) do not equal "Wow...thank you, Jesus!" So funny.

Then, their clever comeback...they call us trolls.
Funny again, tommylion. I have no experience with a lot of scams and useless, ineffective tweaks. That I have no experience likely says more about my smarts than your gullibility and risk taking.
Deeperthought: although late, welcome to the conversation.  Jumping in and immediately, on your first post, calling me a troll is a bit presumptive.

You said: "The fact that industry giants are investing billions in developing and investigating graphene worldwide..."  OK, hotshot, can you back up that factoid with a genuine reference?

While my remarks might seem to you to be inflammatory, they are likely that only because they question/disagree which the theme of this forum and the general populous here.  If you want a forum where everybody agrees with you, perhaps you joined the wrong one last night.
The claims for this pseudo-product have reached such a high level of lunacy that, though it keeps me chuckling, I’ve just run out of interest. And I just don't need the extra 20 emails a day.

Most here will not be unhappy to see me go...also, unlike a few here, I just have other interests in life beyond Audiogon.

Adios compadres!!
Bottom line....contact goop that ts sticky, messy and accompolishes nothing acuoustically?..   oh and expensive.
