New Tweak --- Its Fantastic

THE NEW TWEAK

Over the good part of this past year I’ve been beta testing a new tweak, the name of which is "Total Contact." Its a hi-bred graphene contact enhancer that is different from all other contact enhancers that have come and gone for one reason or another. I’m not new to these contact enhancers, having had quite a bit of experience with a product developed by the late Brian Kyle and his "Quick Silver" contact enhancer. The "Total Contact" is different ... a LOT different.

"Total Contact" is graphene based and is not a vibration control. It eliminates micro-arching between two contacts. Micro-arching, much like Micro-vibration smears the sound in our stereo systems. Its the type of distortion that we don’t know is there .... until we eliminate it. There is no break-in as we know it. The sound is improved right off the bat, but what you hear is only a smidgen of what’s to come.

I tested three generations of "TC," each of which was an improvement over the previous incarnation. The final mix was cryogenitically treated and made for a more effective, much smoother application. It comes in a large hypodermic needle type plunger containing 1.5 ml of product and includes a instructional DVD and an application brush.

The application should be applied with a very thin coat to all of your electrical connections .... from your cartridge pins to your power cords. I did my entire system, including the ends of my fuses.

Upon initial application, you will notice an improvement in clarity, correctness of tonal balance and a more overall organic sound. But ... that is just scratching the surface of what this magic paste does. As it cures, the improvements become more apparent. Much more!

There are two real break-through events that happen almost to the day with "Total Contact," one at four weeks and another at eight weeks . At four weeks, you’ll get a real jump in clarity and overall improvement. That’s only a taste though of what’s to come at eight weeks. At eight weeks your system’s focus will make a jump in SQ that is so real - its surreal.

After 40 years in the hobby, and a total tweak nut, I have never heard anything that does what this graphene paste does. The see-through clarity at eight weeks becomes simply amazing. The "paste" eventually cures into a kind of polymer plastic and it seems that the sound improves with each listening session. So, its important that you leave your contacts alone for the duration. If you’re the type of person that continually switches wires in and out, you’ll have to re paste until enough time has elapsed to get "the cure."

The only problem I had was with the first batch and that had to do with shorting out a tube pin in the line stage. Use the "TC" very sparingly on tube pins, if at all. I only had problems with the line stage tube pins. The Amp, CD Player and Phono Stage has had no tube pin problems at all.

Tim Mrock, one of our fellow A’goners, is the developer of the product. Its taken Tim 15 years and several patents to get it right. Tim has "pasted" every electrical contact he can find in his audio system, all of the switches in his circuit breaker box, every contact in his car ... and has used it in commercial applications such as hospital circuit breakers, surgical lights ... and other places where efficiency and long life of electrical components are deemed important.

This product is highly recommended to anyone who truly wants to get the most out of his/her audio systems. There’s enough product in each tube to do at least two audio systems as it just takes a very thin coat on each application to be effective. The last tube was enough to do my system twice and then a friend’s system this past weekend.

PS: There were a couple of other A’goner beta testers of this product as well. Hopefully, they will chime in here with their experiences for comparison. I "pasted" both of Steve Fleschler’s systems a few days ago, perhaps he will comment on his results too. We forgot to paste Steve’s power cords though, so there’s a lot more to be had from Steve’s two fantastic systems.

Just competed my order of TC, my virgin trade on Audiogon :)

Wonder how long it takes to reach the Far East......

Hi Frank,

I have been lurking here and reading all the posts regarding this product. Do you have any information on how the ordering process is? Will there be a product website to order from?

I tried the SR black fuses on my system after reading all the good reviews from the users here and it sure is one hell of a product, will probably try the Blue fuses and TC soon.

Thanks once again for taking the time to test out the product and putting your neck on the line in this forum to inform everyone here about the improvements in SQ you hear.

Cheers,

Les

Hi Frank,

After applying TC to the contacts of my power cord and power conditioner for example, how long do we need to wait for TC to set before connecting the power cord and turning the system on?

Regards,

Les

Thanks Frank, I will try my best with my limited audio vocabulary.

Looking forward to try it out.

Regards,

Les

Geoff,

Thanks for taking the time to post that, however I have to admit its probably too much for me to digest.

I won't be able to post my thoughts on the product for a while as I would probably receive my new server in the next week or two and would most likely let that run in first

@leggoslave,

It is available to International buyers, I placed my order here from Singapore, no issues.

WOW!!

Finally received TC a couple of days ago and started the process of application on my system, starting with the power cords, Interconnects and speaker cables.

I have come to the stage of my audio journey whereby I believe any further improvements to be made to the SQ of my system has to come at a cost of thousands of dollars. Total Contact has totally debunked that myth.

Like someone else has mentioned earlier, there was much improvement in the clarity, transparency and musicality of the music. Listening to just the intro of my favourite Tin Pan Alley brought a big grin to my face.

I reckon I have enough TC leftover to apply on 3 or more similarly sized systems. Application was easy and can be removed without fuss using normal hand wash.

Thank You Frank for bringing this product to our attention and Thank You Tim for this great product.

Frank, I bought a new power cord on Monday and have been running it in. Should I wait for it to fully run in before applying TC?

Regards,

Les

Hi Frank,

I applied TC to my remaining Power Cord as well as the USB cable running from my server to the DAC.

Proceeded to turn on Tidal and play "Tin Pan Alley" by Stevie Ray Vaughn. The moment the intro came on, there was a huge smile on my face :) How is this possible? Who cares, I just closed my eyes and let the music flowwwwww.

For those who have tried, can you describe which part of the SR Black Duplex you have pasted TC on? I am planning on getting the electrician who installed my duplex over to remove it as well as the distributor box for me to paste the TC.

Welcome to the club barbapapa; I am sure you will be mesmerized by TC.

Aside to Tim, as I live in an apartment I do not have access to the rod from my DB, can I just paste the individual wires? I have sent you a pic of my DB, could you help indicate where TC should be applied?

Thanks.

Looking forward to it Frank, so glad I took the plunge. I did notice the imaging was so much more precise, Norah Jones was dead centre.

Can't thank you enough for recommending this product and having to receive so much flak along the way.

Regards,

Les

Over the weekend, I noticed a great improvement in the SQ of my system, everything sounded smoother and more dynamic and I remember that I was into the 4th week after applying TC.. I was mesmerized and just spent the day listening to my favourite tracks.

Finally had the electrician over this afternoon to open up the DB as well as my Synergistic Research Black UEF wall duplex. We made sure to sit down and listen to some tracks first, and he commented on how much better my system sounded as compared to a year and a half ago when he installed the dedicated DB and SR Black UEF wall duplex.

We then proceeded to apply TC into the DB and wall duplex and sat down again to listen to the same tracks. Both he and I were flabbergasted, the improvement in SQ was simply amazing. The effect was like going from a 1970s Telefunken Box TV to the latest LG OLED TV, it was really that dramatic.

Thanks once again Tim, like someone else has mentioned, I didn't realize how good my system is and I do not see the need at this point to upgrade any components in my chain.

I live in the Far East so I believe my DB will be very much different from yours. Basically removed the wires and applied TC to the ends. There was also a piece of copper rod which my electrician removed and I did that as well.
On the SR wall duplex, i did the wires as well as the internal screws and pins.

Hi Tim,

On the contrary my electrician commented on how tight and focused my bass was. :) Guess I will just enjoy the journey and take it all in.

I am finally satisfied with my equipment and that should keep the upgrading bugs away.

HI fleschler,

I don't know which troll you were referring to as a few posts were removed but I enjoyed reading your reviews and experiences with regards to TC as well as SR products, as I do have the HFT's and Black fuses in my system.

I especially like the part where you said you were wealthy, :) that sounded so refreshing. I look forward to reading whatever tweaks guys like you and Frank discover and share from time to time.

As for me, I am loving my simple system everyday and how TC has taken it to new heights.

Regards,

fleschler,

I have about 15 HFTs and a FEQ in my system, was wondering if any benefits can be had for pasting some TC on the HFTs. Any thoughts on that?

I have passed the 8 weeks mark and the improvements I hear are not subtle. TC is a must have for any serious audiophile looking to improve the sound quality of their system, before embarking on any expensive component change.

As the first person in the entire Far East to order and use this product, it amuses me to see all the naysayers ganging up, trying to knock down OP and Tim,without even trying it out. Which leads me to believe they are either jealous competitors or sad people with nothing better to do in life than trying to discredit a great, wonderful product.

For those of you still debating whether or not to give this a shot, what is 300 bucks in your currency compared to the tens of thousands your system cost? I am also a user of SR Black fuses and they are great, but TC is playing at a different league altogether.

Peace Amigos

Hi Frank,

I am thinking of opening up my Denafrips Terminator DAC and treating it with TC. I am not too familiar with the parts inside that I should apply TC to, would appreciate if you or anyone who has treated their DAC advice.

Les
