Hello!

I looking for opinion. I have been struggling in choose between used Valhalla and Tyr2. Price is approximately same. Have reed everything what I find i internet. There are very few reviews on new Tyr2. Can anybody used both?. Thanks.

I have heard both in my system but not at the same time. The Valhalla was my favorite but couldn't justify the cost (the Valhalla V2 had not been announced yet). The Tyr2 is a warmer more liquid sounding cable IMO. I did buy the Tyr2. I had upgraded from the original Frey. That said that was when I owned Dynaudio C1 signatures and now own Raidho D1's. I would love to hear the original Valhalla again.
Tyr 2 is the latest generation of Nordost cable. In this generation, all Nordost cables sounds warmer than the counterparts in the previous generation.
Going up the rank will increase the extension on both ends and enhance resolution. Original Valhalla is one rank higher than Tyr2 but it was the previous generation. If the price is roughly the same, the choice will depend on your listening preference.

I owned the Valhalla loudspeakercable for over 12 years of
time. I listend and tested Valhalla interconnects a lot. I
sold Nordost for over 9 years of time and also sold a lot
Valhalla. To be honest it is not the best cable Nordost made.
There are many which are more complete and even superior. I
would not even want it for free in my system. Tyr2 will has a
more musical sound. But still have the limitation all Nordost
cables have. The lack of a small and realistic individual
focus of instruments and voices. Also in depth they are not
the best. The other limitation is the timbre you want and need
in the mid freq. I sold Nordost always in combination with
other brands to make the overall sound complete. because you
miss parts which need to be there.
