Nothing fringe for you Geoff. ..Yes your photo is in my frig right now.
Only you expensive cable owners, is this real?
I have followed and agree to all of your recommendations. I seen this on Facebook which I never believe anything but thought I would check it out with you guys. https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mapleshadestore.com%2Fspeakerwires.php%3Ffbclid%3DIw... What are your thoughts?

Mapleshade is kind of fringe.. The site seems to be dwindling/fading away . No more CDs. One of two books is about ’conspiracy drivel’ and the military! Jeez . I would admit the speaker cable idea might work for small speakers and small amps pretty well. The maple blocks pr0bably good too. The brass feet not to bad, if you like brass. Good thing they stopped making their AC power cords, Dangerous bad crazy.. LOL Wasn’t the wire so much as the lack of reasonable insulation! So... Would I accept for free? Maple block, sure. Some brass footers?? wires no. That’s it in a nutshell. If you like Mapleshade, you surely would like Peter Belt. Here is an article about his ideas: http://www.musicweb-international.com/classrev/2005/Sep05/Snark.htm And only for expensive cable owners... I qualify somewhat. One pair of IC $3,200 is that good enough? |
Here is a quote from the Peter Belt story: "
We observed him methodically
taping a picture of a dog, a small
rectangle of white paper with
five pinholes in it and an aspirin
tablet to the top panels of each
of his loudspeakers. When asked
why he was doing this, he simply
smiled knowingly and said, ‘Listen
to the sound.’ Read more: http://www.musicweb-international.com/classrev/2005/Sep05/Snark.htm#ixzz5dr6QUAVG I am sure geoff has something similar for his cassette player. |
I was graciously given the chance to try some of the 'odder' stuff twice. I found no difference in the sound. I would guess some of us are more skeptical, less prone to believe. On the other hand, I can change the sound with moving one AC plug from a Gold plated Furutech Duplex, to the Rhodium NCF Furutech. Which to other folks even less accepting, is just as crazy nonsense. So what. |
It is really hard to get out of the house since no one wants to move my travel tank. Being a dolphin on dry land is not a lot of fun when I try to 'get around' I call Uber and tell them I need to be in my tank the whole trip. And they need to carry all 22,600 lbs of water too. And that IS the little travel tank! Sadly as soon as I tell them the requirements, all the Uber drivers refuse... The little travel tank is on wheels.. what is the fuss? What is odd about a dolphin being an audiophile? |
It’s not just the cables. its the foil, the pasting things on logos.. it all adds up. I am sure the interconnect cables actually work, no problem. You like them good for you. But spare me the magic colors and bits of junk pasted to things.. If the guys designing your car said you had to paste a picture of your Mother you previously kept in your freezer for a week, to the dashboard exactly two inches to the right of the defroster button.. And you also should place a purple sharpie marker mark around each numeral in the speedometer... Would you??? Would you buy the car from such a person? |
