Rega P5 to P6?

Has anyone compared the Rega P6 (not the RP6) with the P5? Wondering if there is much improvement between the two.

I own a P5. I would call an 'upgrade' to a P6 not an upgrade. it is just a lateral move. If you went to a 8 or 10. yeah, now THAT would be an upgrade.
Just my two cents.

As an aside... Early Spring 2018 I thought about upgrading my Magnepan 3.6 speakers. I was ready to buy the later model of the same speaker, the 3.7i. With trade in it would have cost me at least $4000. (to basically have the SAME SPEAKER with a few ’improvements’. I decided it was not worth the bother, and jumped up to the 20.7 Magnepans. Yeah they cost more, but when I was done I am WAY HAPPIER as I actually did MOVE UP the line. Rather than just stay in the same place.
So my message is... Sure the 6 is maybe a little better than the 5 for a lot of spare cash.. Is it WORTH IT? Your money, you decide. But I would definitely tell you save your money and do an actual upgrade, instead of a halfway upgrade. Then the money you would have blown on a half way upgrade went to a real upgrade.
Sorry I thought of this rant after the time to alter my post, passed...Sure you can buy another slightly better one now. Or, you can wait and use the perfectly fine TT you have for some time, saving your pennies. Then in a year? Buy the Rega 8. or whatever, So in a year yo will have an actual upgrade. and in the meantime had a very nice TT all the while. Or, buy the 6, and use it, and in a year, you may want to buy an 8. But gee you just bought the 6?Either way, good luck.
This is the have it now, or have it later dilemma. The main plus if the have it later is you ALREADY HAVE a good TT, and LATER, you can have a much better TT.The buy it now, get you a little bit better TT NOW, but later.. well all you got is a little bit better TT.For myself, I own a P5.. and have considered a 8.. But will wait, and when I CAN AFFORD one, I will buy a Rega 10. In the meantime the P5 is a good TT.

Elizabeth, just moments before reading your last post I concluded a phone call with my dealer. I ordered the P8 which should be released sometime in December. He agreed the P6 is more than a sideways move from the P5, but having auditioned the P8, he said the P8 is well worth the added cost.
