Rega P9 or restored Thorens TD 124?

I am considering upgrading my turntable. I noticed that for approximately the same money one can get a used Rega P9 or a restored Thorens TD-124. I have read glowing reviews for both of them, but I wonder if anyone has had first-hand experience with both of them. How do they compare? Thank you.
