Well if you picked up Kimber 12TC 'for a song' it certainly could be fake. (unless from a Kimber dealer)
Anyway reterminating Kimber is easy
One point is get the unstripped wires into the bundles you want first. Then strip the ends.
Try to push the wires so the ends are even, instead of cutting them off all different extra length to make the even.
Personally I keep the unwoven part as short as possible. Instead of the eight inch long ones seen in a lot of pics.
