Shipping B&O RX2 Turntable

The best  material I have used for packaging  is the 1/2 inch "Pink" polystyrene foam used for house insulation...
- you can easily cut it with a carpet knife for a very custom fit
- it absorbs lots of shock
- it can take a pretty hefty blow from a sharp object without penetration
- you can "hot glue" it in order to build a custom shape
- It's really cheap

You can go with a 1" thickness, but it's overkill

Use a two-ply cardboard box to start - then hot-glue one layer of 1/2 inch of "pink:" to sides and bottom. Double up to 1" if you think you'll need it

Cut "Pink" spacers to prevent table from moving in the box

Put a small piece of "Pink" under the cartridge end of the arm and tape in place for support and prevent the arm from moving intransit.

Make sure the platter is secure

For the platter I would layer a coule of pieces of "pink" so that they hold the platter in place and use the lid to prevent the platter/pink from coming out - you could t a couple of pieces of foam over the platter to prevent bounce

Looks like B&O leaves the platter in place from the pics in the link above
