I had that exact combination a couple years ago. It worked well, although the Rainmaker center had more sibilance than I would have liked. It wasn't the last word in bass response (and I wasn't using a sub, so that may have helped), but generally had clear dialog and sufficient dynamics to satisfy most people in a HT setting.
According to Totem, the Rainmaker center is the appropriate combination with the Hawks, although I felt that the center was the weak link.
