Just upgrading phono without knowing what cartridge one will be using next would be unwise, though sure the sound will improve.
First you have to decide whether you want to start with upgrading digital or analog. I would start with analog, but that's me.
Perhaps you could try a better cartridge to begin with. Needle Doctor might give you a good advice.
But if you mostly listen to digital then upgrading DAC might make more sense, but I don't know how much you would have to spend for a significant digital upgrade. Besides, digital improves all the time, with analog you don't have to upgrade often, especially table/arm. I don't plan to upgrade my Nottingham Spacedeck/Spacearm for the next ten yeras or so.
