I use a Sony HAPZ1ES Music Server. All files are in FLAC or DSD. It plays through a Mac C2500 preamp. I also use an Esoteric SACD Player quite often.
What are you using as a controller for your audio system?
With the advent of digital, I noticed many Audiophiles using a wide variety of devices to select and control what they listen to, and how. Some are using DACs and bypassing preamps, some are using their android or iphone as a controller in combination with a streaming and/or storing device. Some are using their laptop computers.
I am using a dedicated IPad mini with a Bluesound Node 2 to stream and play music from my NAS. I also use that dionosaur, a CD player with attached external DAC.
