next time that I visit SoCal, I will check out your store.
Hi!

New retailer here, Alma Music and Audio, in San Diego, CA!
Matter of fact, we're just a year old, and we're throwing an event out this weekend to celebrate, with Evolution Acoustics, Wave Kinetics and darTZeel, with the presence of darTZeel's Hervé Deletraz!
We're at 5759 La Jolla Blvd., La Jolla, CA

Tone of Music Audio - San Francisco
Blue Moon Audio - Pacifica
Berkeley Stereo - guess where

Jack contacted me a few days ago to inform about the new receipt of CJ 150 integrated amp. It will need at least 200 hrs of burn-in and asked if JT would update me. He is a great one!
Jack Tozzi at Spearit is amazing...have been doing business with them since 2000!!!
I purchased my preamp (c-j Classic 2SE) and DAC ( NAD M51) from Jack, he and the guys at Spearit are great to deal with....
I don't know about audio shops in Austin jafant, but Rythmik Audio, maker of great subwoofers, is. So is Cornell Hurd and his band, a Western Swing/Hard Country singer/songwriter friend of mine. Go see and hear him some time!
Happy New Year! Kelly-

keep us posted and your new endeavor. Happy Listening!
With those speaker lines I think you are going to have to carry much better Electronics.

Hey Guys,

I am starting up a new dealership in San Francisco. My dealership is called Coda Audio Video. I am currently representing Peachtree Audio, Scansonic, Raidho Acoustics, Jolida, and ELAC USA. Please check me out at www.codaaudiovideo.com. You can also reach me directly at 415-205-1053. We are currently seeking more brands as we speak after CES. We are striving to provide the best customer service in the Bay Area. Thank you and have a great day.

Best,
Kelly
You guys give a shout out for dealers/retailers that are "opening" shop
in 2016!
Take 5 Audio, New Haven, CT.
Ralph has been in business there since 1977. I have been dealing with them since 1985 and have always found them to be knowledgeable and trustworthy.
Their product lines run the gamut from budget minded to the highest of high end.

Only done business with two B&M retailers and would recommend them both in this order:

1. Deja Vu Audio Mclean VA
2. Gifted Listener Audio Centreville VA

I got my first system way back when at Gifted Listener but I've become a die-hard Deja Vu Audio convert and love the gear that they make themselves.
No B&M but MO
Blue Jeans Cable
Super fast turnaround.  Great quality at a low price

Reno HiFfi
Purchased two items from Mark.  Great guy. He steered be away from an expensive component that would have given him a good sale but would not have worked with my system.
Audio Breakthroughs in Mannhasset Long Island.

Knowledgeable, courteous, customer oriented in a very small, equipment cluttered shop.  Just the way I like it.  They sell some used equipment on consignment and have a large inventory of new.
Happy New Year,

let's keep a good thing going here. What are you fave dealers/retailers
in 2016 ?
I replied to this thread a while back......before I found AV Therapy in Nashua NH.   Great guys to deal with,  awesome store.
Stereo Exchange NYC - Bricks and Mortar. Alan C. , a.k.a. "The Audio Elf" and the staff are excellent folk. Most of my equipment is purchased here and it's 55 miles from my residence. They need to start selling vinyl!!!

Reno Hifi - I've only dealt with Mark through this site but I feel like I know him on a personal face to face level. Totally committed to customer satisfaction. Two purchases plus trades went smoother than one could imagine.

Audio Classics - the Mcintosh guys upstate. No nonsense straightforward. One of these days I'm going to drop by.

Excellent! The shop also still has a great tech in Tom, who's in on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Tom did all the diagnostic and repair work for Brooks, and does the same for Sheila. Tell him Eric says hey!
On my last post I said I thought the store Brooks Berdan was going downhill because of new management. Well I was wrong. I spoke with Rick last week that is manager of that store. We discussed different phono cartridges and he was very kind and helpful. He told me to bring my table in and he would put a scope on the stylus and also listen to it. As soon as I have a chance to do that I will be going to see him.

Very nice! Mfoley3-

I would love to visit Jack and Spearit Sound someday. I have always wanted to read about their listening rooms and the acoustic environment during audition(s) for it's customers. No doubt, the shop carries excellent brands and offers excellent prices. Happy Listening!
Jafant - Jack is the best retail audio person I've ever dealt with. He's knowledgeable, fair and doesn't push product. Rather he provides consultation on products that fit your objectives and budget. He thinks holistically and helps you put a system together. He also understands that business success is based upon building long term relationships based upon great advice and service. He's in it for the long haul, not just the immediate sale.
Another positive vote for Jack Tozzi @ Spearit Sound. I have often wondered over the years if JT was still around? It is good to read that he is still around and well.

Keep me posted & Happy Listening!
That is so sad and a warning tale for family businesses to have a success plan in place w, for example, key man insurance to make sure that there are enough funds to make a transition. And no I am not an insurance salesman.
I can tell you why, Taters: Brooks left behind a widow, Sheila Berdan---Brian's mother, and she and Brian couldn't come to an economic arrangement for the shop that worked for both of them. Brian left to start Audio Element in Pasadena, taking with him some important lines (Wilson, VTL), as well as his expertise (years of training by Brooks) and reputation, not to mention some BBL clients. Sheila took over the old store, keeping on the old staff (some great guys), and bringing in some good new lines. They are both worthy of patronage.

Spearit Sound in MA is very good and Jack Tozzi, in particular, is outstanding.
I never understood why he started a new dealership. After all he was Brooks son. Now the original Brooks Berdan store has really went downhill. I would not be surprised if they are gone in a couple of years.
Taters, have you visited Brian Berdan's shop in Pasadena, Audio Elements, yet? He was trained by Brooks (his Pa) his whole life, and took many of the BB Ltd. accounts (Wilson, VTL) with him to his new place.
Brooks Berdan was my favorite when Brooks was still alive. Unfortunately it's really went downhill since Brooks passed away.
I concur Taters. It would be interesting to note the number of dealers/retailers that have gone away (not gone to net commerce) in the last 10 years...

Keep me posted & Happy Listening.
Jafant, it would be interesting to know how many high-end shops have went out of business since this thread was started 7 years ago.
