Never been good at rating music as my opinion changes too frequently. However, I have some recordings that I have loved from this past year, and play all the time:
•Chris Potter - Lift
•Geri Allen - Life of a Song
•Ahmad Jamal - In Search of Momentum
•James Carter - Live at Baker's keyboard Lounge
Thought that Strange Liberation (great disc) was a big improvement over Freak In. Haven't heard any of your other picks, but hope to fix that problem soon.

Could clear the room, (but great anyway):

Stuart Liebig/ Locustland
Michael Vlatkovich/ Queen Dynamo
Craig Taborn/ Junk Magic
Previte-Hunter/ Groundtruther Latitude
Big Satan, (Berne/Rainey/Ducret)/ Souls Saved Hear
Trevor Dunn's Trio Convulsant/ Sister Phantom Owl Fish
Falaise-Samworth-Tanguay-Van der Schyff/ The Unexpected One
Frank Gratkowski Quartet/ Facio
Nels Cline Singers/ The Giant Pin

Less likely to clear the room:

Stahls Bla/ Schlachtplatte
Tony Wilson Quintet/ Horseplay
Trio Derome, Guilbeault, Tanguay/ 10 Compositions
Bift, ( Excellent guit., Sax, Drums trio, you can get this new for $5 at cd Baby)

Really unlikely to clear the room:

Jon Balke/ Diverted Travels
Stuart Liebig/ Minim
Ned Rothenberg-Sync/ Harbinger
Pip Pyle's Bash/ Belle Illusion
Tony Malaby/ Adobe
Rathbun-Howard Quintet/ Days Before and After
Terminal 4/ When I'm Falling
Christian Jormin 3/ Sol Salutis

Your mother in law will not hate these, (still great and both are gorgeous recordings):

Steven Bernstein/ Diaspora Hollywood
Enrico Rava/ Easy Living
JESSICA WILLIAMS- LIVE AT YOSHI'S
MULGREW MILLER- LIVE AT YOSHI'S 1
KENNY WERNER PEACE- LIVE AT THE BLUE NOTE
BARRY HARRIS- LIVE IN NEW YORK
JASON LINDNER- LIVE/UK
JFZ,

I know you have class my man, as you put Von Freeman, "The Great Divide" on your list. Based on that, I may have to pick up your first 4 choices.
