Parasound P 5 preamp How do you like it?

What preamp did you own before you purchased the P5 and how does it compare sound quality wise. I own a Conrad Johnson classic which I like the sound but not the lack of utility. I know the P5 is a utility knife compared to the Classic fillet knife when it comes to options but have not seen any responses on the P5 listening effects. The P5 has been out for a couple of years but other than the poetry from the pro reviews very little is known. My system includes McIntosh mc2120, vpi turntable, Cambridge Azur740 cd player,DIY Seas speakers, Sub woofer driven by a Shengya sp-991.

When the cops pull you over, you don't usually get arrested for having a utility knife in the car (providing you don't try to use it). A fillet knife is another matter. Its designed to cut into big pieces of meat, cooked or raw; It makes no difference. Its a tool designed to do damage.

Try eating a steak with a utility knife and see how that works out for you.
Let's go with a Swiss Army Knife and a Fillet Knife. May I suggest a session with some music or a therapist. Chill out man I am simply trying to get feedback on the P5.

Lighten up. How could you not think that wasn't funny? And know that I have a therapist? Maybe you're more Bob_reynolds type of audiophile. He claims to know how any component sounds just by looking at a spec sheet, and nothing else. But he keeps it a secret, and won't tell any one how he does it. Hopefull, you can get it out of him.
