EQ’ing with DEQX

There are numerous threads on the DEQX and I’ve poured through many of them.  I’ve owned the unit for about 1.5 weeks now and am overwhelmed every time I hear an album I’ve been listening to for years.  I’ve gotten the timing/delay, crossover points, sub integration, but not the EQing.  I’m not hearing anything jump out at me from any one frequency, but want to attempt to finish off the last 2-3% to get it perfect and create an EQ profile to swap in when needed.  I reached out to DEQX to attempt a remote session, but that was a week ago and I never heard back.  Not that big of a deal, though professional confirmation that I’m headed in the correct direction is always good.

The one thing I can not figure out, for the life of me, is how to go back into the configuration and add EQ’ing.  Per the manual, it references the process from the very beginning of building out your templates and such, then adding your EQ points.  I can’t figure out how to step back into my existing configuration and add the EQ points.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Todd,

Glad you are enjoying the DEQX.  Given its complexity and the learning curves that are involved it certainly sounds like you've made a ton of progress in only 1.5 weeks.

EQ is handled by the DEQX somewhat differently than the other settings that are saved in a configuration file.  EQ adjustments are activated in the DEQX hardware on the fly, as they are made.  To store them in a configuration file the DEQX profiles then have to be downloaded from the DEQX unit to a configuration file on the connected computer.

See page 102 of version 3.02 of the manual, headed "update the configuration."

Hope that helps.  Best regards,
