What is the location of the rack? Is it between the speakers? off away to the side? This matters.
Is your floor suspended wood? or concrete?
Do you use a turntable?
Do you find when you touch the current rack you plan on replacing when playing loud music that the shelving is vibrating? Can the sound get better if you add material between (temporarily tightening and stiffening the shelving you now have? (Books are good for this, magazines as final tightening..)
Do you currently use any footer type vibration control?
Have you thought of adding a thin dampening material to the current shelves? underside? or sides?
I am not a big uber shelving fan. I use cheap ($150) but nice racks I found locally and filled the hollow tubes with dried sand. I have my racks away from the speakers off to my side.I use patio bricks to help stabilize the Turntable shelving under the TTs
