Are Magnepan 1.7s bi-ampable?

I've read one source that said no:

"Since there are four terminals at the rear of the panels I asked the Magnepan sales people if it was possible to bi-amp or bi-wire the speakers like the 1.6, their answer was no."

is this true? I found big (and I mean BIG) improvements bi-amping my 1.6QRs.
