The best speaker you ever heard?

In my opinion, the speaker is by far the most important part of the audio system. After all, it is the only part you hear. OK, the other stuff really matters a lot, but without a great speaker... No go.

I am a bit 'speaker-obsessed' I guess, and now I am wondering: What are the best speakers you have ever heard, and what made them the best?

I have owned just about every top of the line speaker but without doubt the single best speaker I have ever heard is the Wilson X-2 Alexandria. You can have a look at mine

The best speakers that I have ever heard are my Legacy Focus 20/20's, I used to think that my cornerhorn's were the best sounding until I heard my 20/20's.

KLH ELECTROSTATIC PANELS in 1967 and HILL PLASMATRONIC in 1971. ALTEC 604D in 1973.

I haven't heard too many of the high end pieces of kit, but I remember specifically a pair of Living Voice speakers - Air Partner I believe - which were stunning - this was about 15 years ago - don't know how much things have moved on since then but if I can remember it now, they couldn't have been bad.

They did however lkook like wardrobes!
