Ladies analogy lover?

correct me if I m wrong. I subscribed to a few audio magazines and I noticed that most of the manufacturer owners and audio designers are men (except the lady fr Manley). I can't seems to get my wife to be interested in audio equipments or music. Are there many ladies audiogoners? Wld like to hear how u got involve in audio? Thx

S7horton,

I'll admit, I never considered the possibility that someone would spend hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars on audiophile pursuits if they didn't love music.

Perhaps someone here on Audiogon who is NOT a music lover might have even better advice for Audioblazer. Any takers?
If it was as much about the music as it is about the equipment you'd see a much larger female participation. Let's face it, this hobby has a lot in common with 60's and 70's muscle cars. High performance, powerful, fast, and slick looking machines.
Gadgets are rarely for women. I have never gotten one to critically listen to music. Music is in the background not in the foreground to my wife. She still can't understand why I would have a single disc CD player. I would give up this battle.
"My wife loves music but was never exposed to good gear until she met me."

So you exposed your gear to her when you met and she married you? I thought they just put you in jail for that sort of thing.
A lot of audiophiles claim to be "music lovers" but hey, actions speak louder than words - and all the evidence you need is two pageclicks back from here:

Audiophile Forums:
--- Amps Preamps (11301)
--- Cables (4041)
--- Music (2598)

There are almost 4 times as many threads about Amps and Preamps as about Music, and astonishingly (IMHO) nearly twice as many posts about freakin' CABLES as about Music!!! I find that rather sadly telling.
