How do you remove static from an album.

I found about 200 old records at my inlaws house. How can i get the static out?

If you mean static electric charge and you're using a record cleaning brush like Discwasher, lift the LP and touch it to your nose after cleaning and before play.

Use an automotive tire shine that does not contain "petroleum distillates". Find a clean non-shedding soft rag (new diaper) and put the fluid on the rag until it is damp. set it aside untill it is dry. The just wipe the LP surfaces lightly with the dry rag (full of silicon). You only have to get a TRACE on the flats next to the grooves, not into the grooves. The records will remain static free for a very long time.
