going from RCA to balanced is usually not a problem.
The RCA hot wire goes to the positive XLR pin. The ground of the RCA goes to the negative pin of the XLR. and the XLR ground is left not attached.
Cardas makes some good adapters. Just be certain to buy the correct one of four possibilites for your needs
Female RCA to female XLR if you want the interconnect to be an RCA cable, with the adapter at the speaker.
Male RCA to Male XLR if you want the use a balanced interconnect and the adapter at the preamp end.
(Then other two are Female RCA to Male XLR, and Male RCA to Female XLR!)
