Jolida JD100. How good is it?

What about the AH! Njoe Tjoeb 400 used? I've heard it is a decent value and can be bought new in that $$ range although I haven't heard the Jolida or the AH! myself. Lots of positive feedback on both. I currently own a Planet 2000 and a Cary CD308 and enjoy them both for different reasons in 2 different systems. Until Cary or someone else comes out with a combo player in my price range that does a great job on all formats, I'm waiting.

it's very good. i'm an analog guy, but the jolida more than satisfies me, and i even look forward to listening to cds! that says something. i bought a modded player, popped in some smooth-plate telefunkens, upgraded the power cord, and use some high-quality interconnects. try to demo it if you can, and let your ears decide. good luck in your search.

Musicdoc, I love the JD-100 as well. I'm afraid I am wearing it out by playing it so much. There are two for sale at audiogon for $700+. Given my unit's track record, I would say a used mint Jolida is a safe buy.

Thanks for the responses. Sounds like a consensus on the jolida. Hope it is still available. If not may just add in the additional $'s. Those that have the 100 seem to love it. Have researched some of the others like the Ah and rega but something about the reviews on the Jolida have me headed that way. From the responses it sounds like there is a lot of room for improvement to my system with a good dedicated cd player. Listening is not possible where I live so have to depend on others experience and hope it matches with my system. Buying used shouldn't lose many dollars. Planned to start with a pre pro but got headed this direction. One step at a time should be fun.

To reinforce earlier comments, I own a Jolida JD-100 and find it imminently pleasing to listen to. It provides good dynamics, neutral or mid-row perspective, and sweet treble and great musicality. Punchy and pleasing is a good way to describe it. A bargain is another.
