Van Halen or Van Hagar

What's your preference?

Me- Van Hagar.

Halen "for sure".

"That suit is you!"
"Give me a break Dave...."
"ONE BREAK, COMING UP!"

Unchained is way, way up on my list of rock favorites...........

Dave may have been an A$$, but he was a funny A$$....."for sure"......

Enjoy,

Both iterations have their gems and lemons, but I gravitate toward the original line-up.

"1984" is an LP that rocks from beginning to end.

Also, the Roth version of the band had an occasional sense of humor ("I don't feel tardy") that was refreshing.
"but god help me if Michael Anthony isn't the most boring bass player on record."

Michael Anthony is the most undervalued member of the group. Not only is he rock solid, he also provides great background vocals. Take a close listen to the bass track on "Panama". He can play.

Oh, and there is only one VH. The one with DLR fronting it.
I agree with you about DLR, spiritualized, but it appears that MA doesn't....he jumped ship to join Hagar's new version of Van Hagar, Chickenfoot.
