LAST Record Preservative. Do you believe?
I found that Stylast formed a coating on my stylus. The more I used it(thinking the stylus was dirty) the worse the sound got! I finally caught on and stopped using it and the the sound got better with every record! Cheers,Rainer S.

Tice Elite 3 Line Conditioner TO 2 prongs old wiri
I would say that if a line conditioner has a ground pin it should have ground. Your low voltage readings on some of your ground sockets may be due to having a voltmeter with high impedance and wiring with not so good insulation and what you are re...
Wow/Flutter and Speed Stability
Looks cool, but the whole thing depends on how much wow & flutter is on the test record. Not much mention is made of what is on the test record or how accurate it is. I use a scope to set up my turntable but don't worry about wow & flutter...
Records are getting noisy
I totally agree, just about all my newer reoords (purchased within the last 2 years) are noisier than the ones I bought in the 80's. The worst was the re-release of pink floyd DSOTM. Extremely disappointing and almost turned me off of buying any m...
Tonearm pivot lube
Thanks Dan_ed, I downloaded the Psx-800 manual but it doesn't mention anything about lubricating or adjusting the tone-arm pivots either. They are probably assuming that anyone getting that involved would know what to do. I still would like to kno...
Tonearm pivot lube
If I understand correctly the pivots must have zero clearance to transmit vibrations effectively. By giving a slight pre-load to the pivot points and would be making sure that the arm stays tight even when the temperature changes. I may be splitti...
Tonearm pivot lube
Thanks for the info. The arm is a Bio-Tracer on a Sony linear tracker. I was a little hesitant to mention this as either Sony, or it seems linear tracking, get very little respect from the audiophile community. There does not appear to be lube on ...

phono Cartridge warranties
Has anyone actually ever gotten warranty on a phono cartridge?
black touchup paint?
Check your automotive supplier. The best one I found I think is called "No-Mar" or something like that. It seams to match well with most semi-gloss to flat black finishes. It comes in a spray can however so I don't know how handy this will be.

Grounding Hum
Try flipping the AC plug-ins around in their sockets one at a time. If your on split phase with ground return this could help. Let me know if this helps and I will explain why it does.
The best phono stage out there?
Salectric has it right. The "best" phono stage can only be the one built to match the system and listening environment.
Sumiko Blackbird Tracking Force please help
Play around with the tracking force, it makes a big difference on the sound quality your going to get out of the cart. I don't think that your going to get proper performance under 1.8 grams though. You might find that you may even have to go to 2...
