New speakers? No thanks.
Thank you for not saying "the wife." Probably a little part of why she's open to you pursuing your passion, something she seems to enjoy as well. Good on ya...
Alternatives to Stillpoints
Amazon. I think this is it:https://www.amazon.com/HIMALAID-Himalayan-Serving-Naturally-Provides/dp/B07L3BLLHH/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UT...It's 12 x x 8 x 2 so it's footprint is a bit smaller than the amps.
Alternatives to Stillpoints
I like Herbie's products across the board and use the iso cups and balls under my Primaluna mono blocks to great effect (on Himalayan salt block platforms).
MQA is Legit!
I actually use it and really like it. Tidal via Bluesound Node 2 to Mytek Brooklyn+ MQA DAC/Pre. 90% of the time I prefer it to 16/44, even from SSD to Bryston BDP-2 to Mytek. Don't over think it, don't be political, just listen and see what you l...
What unknown musical artist would you like to share with your fellow audiophiles?
Bangor Flying Circus was a Chicago rock-jazz band in the early seventies. Their version of Norwegian Wood on their eponymous album was pretty great.
How much would I lose going to a Bluesound Node 2i
mahler123 What I like about the Bluesound app is that you can easily navigate between your library of ripped files and Tidal (and whatever other streaming resources you might use). It's automatically grabs the album artwork. The Node 2 automatical...
What unknown musical artist would you like to share with your fellow audiophiles?
Let me suggest the band Cotton Jones, and later albums by the lead dude Michael Nau. Great melodic pop...
How much would I lose going to a Bluesound Node 2i
I'm running Tidal and an SSD with AIFF files into a Node 2 and then into a Mytek DAC+ via spdif and, as decent as the Node 2's DAC is, going through the Mytek's DAC sounds way better, especially on MQA files.Used in this configuration, it pretty m...
Discovering I may have the cleanest AC power in USA
I think of the Noise Harvesters more as noise "sniifers" than I do noise reducers, though I don't suppose that they hurt (and, like Elizabeth, I have found that multiple NHs on the same circuit reduces the frequency of their blinking). Using them ...
White Album Deluxe Anniversary edition
I can't speak to the LP version, but the CD version sounds spectacular--previous masterings sound like you're listening through a tin-can phone. What you miss on Tidal (and no, I haven't done a sonic comparison yet), is the spectacular printed mat...
The new Synergistic Research BLUE fuses ....
@celanderYes, the power source (provided it has a fuse!) is a great place to start, but further benefits will be achieved with source components, preamp, DAC and so on...
What do you LIKE BEST about your current audio system?
@hartf36:You are correct, sir!!!
The new Synergistic Research BLUE fuses ....
ThomasA few weeks ago I installed an SR Blue duplex outlet and a UEF AC cable to the Nordost QB8 power distributor powering my main system replacing a Shunyata Viper Zitron. I also added an SR Blue fuse to my REL S/5. To summarize, bass took on mo...
The new Synergistic Research BLUE fuses ....
I’m getting great results with an SR Blue fuse in my REL S/5. It bumped a Black fuse into my R-328 to replace a Hi Fi Tuning fuse. Good stuff!(And I am not affiliated in any way with SR or any other audio-related company. I pay cash up-front for e...
The new Synergistic Research BLUE fuses ....
If your system is dedicated to LPs, put the fuse in the phono power supply. Otherwise, putting the fuse in the integrated amp would cover more. Better still, put fuses in both of 'em!
