Mark Levinson 27.5 versus modern day amps
Had the 27.5 and yes it was a very good amp.   Not the world's best or hidden treasure of high end but still very respectable.  AB against a Soulution poweramp and while it lost out it was not too far behind.  Moved on since long time ago and not ...
Upgrade path from Wilson WattPuppy 7s? - seeking advice
I had the WP7 before.  While it did some things very well, I wanted more coherency/refinement and a more linear bass.  Went through a couple of other speakers before settling on the Vandersteen 7.  Must have been a few years ago and I have had zer...
Any Vandersteen 7 Owners in SFO Bay Area ?
@ctsooner - did the sound improve when you install built-in high pass filter in the Ayre amp vs using the Vandersteen external high pass filter box?  I now connect the external high pass filter box between my source and preamp instead of at the po...
Any Vandersteen 7 Owners in SFO Bay Area ?
Glad to see so many 7 users in this thread!  I have had the 7 for two years and have found that they somehow are more sensitive to powerline quality than other systems that have gone through my place, i.e. my system through the 7 sounds vastly dif...
Vandersteen Seven Review
Ctsooner, how was your audition. The new Seven mk2 versus old Seven that is.
Rockport Avior versus Ankaa
I think you seriously have to listen for yourself, here's why.I always love the Rockport house sound, having heard all the models from the Mira up to the Avior in numerous settings (home setting that is, not show setting). At the time, Rockport wa...
Vandersteen Seven Review
Thanks for your thorough review.Based on the fact that we do not see many 5s leave alone the 7s in the used market, I also wonder if owners tend to hang on to them longer than other brands or is it because not so many were sold in the first place....
Magico S5 review
>>have you tried the m5. it is absolutely the best speaker in the magico lineup>>Mcduman, I have never heard the M5 although I would love to. Price aside, it is way too big for my room. I love the mids to highs of the "wood" Magico, so...
Magico S5 review
My experience mirrors that of Mcduman. I find the S5's highs to be too forward and tipped up for "my taste". But then again, I prefer the V series to the Q series so personal preferences may come into play (I never like the Berrylium tweeter, whet...
Pioneer EX Speakers
I have listened to 3ex briefly and found something special about it too. Mfsl, what is the rest of your system can you please share?
Thiel CS 3.7 vs Tidal Piano Cera
How does the Revel ultima salon2 stand compared to theThiel and Tidal?--> I would be interested to hear about such comparison as well. Thanks.
RevelStudio2 really special or I need to hear more
Thank you all for sharing your own experience/comments. Perhaps it's really time I move back to cone speakers, if only I can get over the look of the Revel.
RevelStudio2 really special or I need to hear more
What is the "ML sound"?IMHO, it is a well implemented op-amp sound. Fun to listen to, but a bit artificial and lack of body. This is only my interpretation though.
Vivid Audio ???
I heard their standmounted at a dealer's showroom once and the Giya at a show. The standmounted was good, but considering the price, I'd want the bottom end to go lower. The Giya was eyeopening with the detail and dynamics. Front end was DCS and c...
Mag 3.6R or 20.1 , Sanders & Montana EPS2
Jon,With the DCX crossover, you can easily adjust the midrange and treble of the 10b to your taste (lots of experimentations required though). It will keep you busy for a long while =)
