Should I buy SACD's or Buy Quality Multi-Format CD player and use Old Digital CD's?
I’ve been looking at some SACD players, but if you want multichannel, there aren’t too many options.  I liked the classic XA5400ES for multich, especially since my pre/pro could do DSD over HDMI. However, with the ability to just download DSDs, I ...
2.1 tube pre with ht bypass?
The McIntosh C2300/2500/2600 all have dual outputs and home theater bypass. The ARC Ref 6, Cary SLP 5, also have HT bypass and multiple outputs. What voltage range are you looking for out of the preamp?  That will filter out some of the choices.
NAD M50.2
Very cool. Aurender makes good gear. Best of luck!
NAD M50.2
With regards to sound quality, I can make the following comments:1) I'm getting excellent frequency response ("loudness" setting is off on my processor/DAC) from the low range to the high.  Everything sounds crystal clear.2) My wife remarked last ...
NAD M50.2
When you hook up the M50.2, I would think about using the 12V trigger in to turn it on and off. There is no remote control button for power on/off (or rather, no programmable setting...the M50.2 doesn’t come with a remote, you program in your own ...

Ok, so final MQA update...I tried some songs from the masters collection which are supposedly able to stream at 24/192 (Velvet Underground’s Sweet Jane) but all I’ve seen is 24/96.  So, it looks like the decoding step on the M50.2 isn’t doing ever...
NAD M50.2
I’m on the trial Tidal HiFi option now. Streamed some music last night. A couple notes:1) streaming “masters” music over WiFi is not a viable solution. I had to switch to wired. 2) The blue MQA light came on the M50.2 and my Emotiva was getting 24...
NAD M50.2
Rick, from the (only?) review out there, someone plugged their NAD M50.2 into a Mytek and played an MQA. The NAD decoded it, then the Mytek indicated it was receiving an MQA, but apparently no further processing was done. I think the NAD decodes th...
Component recommendations: best bang for buck.
I think, unless you have a L/C/R speaker setup you like, or want to have, a two speaker amp is enough. To be honest, I was using a L/C/R, with plans to use SL/SR once I moved into my new house, but I recently dropped the C because it was hard to b...

One other thing to note: the Krell Foundation does not support HDR. It’s stuck at HDMI 2.0a, not 2.0b. There will be no upgrade to push it to 2.0b. Apparently Krell will release a new, larger system in 12-18 months. If you have a new TV with HDR, ...
Just switched from McIntosh C2500/2600 to ARC Ref 6, initial thoughts
Aren’t they all solid state?
Question for cable/wire naysayers.....
Hard to argue with most of his positions, but he does note that for a small set of cases, low capacitance cabling is important.I generally tend to agree with, you know, science and data. But to each their own.
NAD M50.2
Sounds good enough for me. Either way, the clock in the NAD M50.2 - since it’s brand new - should be pretty good. Time, technology, etc etc.  If you want me to test any functionality, let me know.
NAD M50.2
I'll try an MQA file tonight.  I'm not sure how this is supposed to work, but as I understand it, either your DAC needs to have an MQA decoder or in this case, the M50.2 can decode the hi res FLAC directly.  In that case, I should see 24/88 or 24/...
Question for cable/wire naysayers.....
http://www.audioholics.com/audio-video-cables/the-truth-about-interconnects-and-cablesIt's an old article, but simply written.  It's the basis for most naysayer's positions.
