Recommendations for improving visceral impact?
Heard back from Marantz. Nice that they replied quickly, but otherwise no luck."Unfortunately, no. The 8802A didn't have the proper hardware to support that App. As far as any other Audyssey Apps for older models, I don't know of any. "There may b...

Maybe I'll just tinker with the EQ manually, too... Looks like I might be able to "curve copy" to use the Audyssey EQ results as a starting point?I also emailed Marantz to see if they had any suggestions on further apps/adjustments.  Thanks!

Well that's quite interesting, @mzkmxcv!It looks like the Audyssey app doesn't work with the AV8802A though. :(https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/audyssey-multeq-editor-app/id1210584625?mt=8(Anyone know otherwise?)

Thanks all. Reading a bit more about "forwardness" and "presence" it seems more like the 1khz to 3khz range tends to be related to what I’m talking about. So I really don’t think the issue is <60hz... and therefore probably not a subwoofer issu...

Ha!  And yep, after a bit more Googling, I see that I definitely used the wrong term. I'm looking to help improve presence, and help the system feel a bit more forward.

Thanks Erik.  I do have a couple of the GIK Bass traps (just two, one in the corner near the sub, the other in the opposite corner). And I don't think I can add any more traps or panels if I want to preserve my marriage....Interesting idea to set ...

I finally had some time to upgrade the fuse today, and to spend some time listening before/after.I must admit, I was highly skeptical that a fuse could noticeably change things. But...I do think it’s an improvement! I’m not sure how much is pl...

I had heard the fuses were directional, and was wondering about that, since the circuit board isn't marked. Good tip - thanks!

@auxinput - I do.And haven't received the fuse just yet...will report back once I have a chance to drop it in. I've also been talking with James at GIK Acoustics... working on a plan to add some absorption panels and bass traps. I'm optimistic tha...

Ah! Already ordered...Thanks for the shipping tip; I went with the cheaper shipping since I probably won't have time during the week to test out the fuse anyway. And next weekend will be all about replacing/building the new racks, which arrive on ...

Just came across this power cord on Parts Connexion... wondering if it might be a good choice for either the Rotel or the Marantz, especially since it's 10awg. Tried to find info on "Connex" cables but didn't turn up much.https://www.partsconnexio...

Ok, you've successfully twisted my arm about the fuse upgrade! I just opened up the Marantz and pulled the fuse, so I could figure out which to buy.Looks like it's the 5x20 size.  The circuit board and the etching on the fuse are T2AL/250V... From...
