Install a subwoofer for Marantz 2230 2 channel?
yes it can be done. You need a subwoofer that will take speaker level inputs (many/most do).

have you tried swapping power tubes? I'm not familiar with that amp, but assume it has a solid state rectifier. Normal troubleshooting would start with the rectifier tube, then go to the power tubes. If you pull the power tubes and power on, and t...
R.I.P. John Renbourn
I have all of his solo albums I have been able to find on vinyl, and they are all great, though some of the songs overlap with the Pentangle. " The Black Balloon" is probably my favorite, though "Sir John Alot", and "Lady and the Unicorn" are also...
Tweeter Problem
not familiar with your speakers, but if you can access the crossover to check if there is a fuse built in, that would be my first check, next would be to pull the tweeter and apply a signal to it to see if it produces sound. If it does, that says ...

Bi amping a pair of B&K ST-140's
850 is high. I've seen them as low as ~450 in rough cosmetic shape to ~700 in good shape.I'm not familiar with the ex442.
Bi amping a pair of B&K ST-140's
I have the older ones, plus I have one of the newer ones that I use for a center SPL. The old ones are one of the best values around. The difference is mostly packaging afaik. I also had mine nodded at musical concepts.
Bi amping a pair of B&K ST-140's
IMO, a biamped pair of ST140's isn't close to a pair of M200's (I have both). If you don't have the patience to wait for a pair of M200's, I might look for a Parasound HCA2200 (I've also had one of those).
My new TV doesn't have an RCA video in.....
I've used a composite to s-video adapter and it worked fine. I have no experience with this one (ie to HDMI) but would imagine it works.http://www.amazon.com/Portta-WPETCHP-Composite-Converter-Scaler/dp/B008S7EYW2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=141822...

just get out your skill saw and cut it into 4 or 6 pieces, then you can move each out individually ;-)
