Mcintosh,Meridian,Anthem,Classe surround sound
FWIW, I've yet to find a better processor than Meridian; be it 568 or 861. The rest just don't match up!
The importance and effect to and above 20kHz...
So then...I guess my next question would be...how important is it to build a system around the >20kHz factor, so to speak? If there are any benefits, be it small or great, are these added benefits substantial enough to warrant building a speake...

How big should center spkr be to set to "large"?
"Yes it is a good starting point but lets look at just why that is?" I would assume it would have something to do with system integration..."I feel it was simply for the benefit of speaker manufactures"Conspiracy Theory?? : ) Just joking."I think ...

"CD, do you know the reason for the THX 80Hz crossover standard?" Drcruz - I've never considered why THX selected 80hz, seeing my system wasn't built around THX standards. I would suggest if its important, check out the website for THX or Tomlinso...

" It is always best to set your speakers lower if they can handle it..."I agree...only if it integrates with the rest of the system for overall optimal performance. "80hz was invented by Lucas films...they made the law but that doesn't mean you ne...

Best analog sounding cd player under 5K
I'm sure its been mentioned before, but why not divide the budget up between CD player (as the transport) and D/A Converter? Considering the CD player is digital in nature, IMO why not purchase a comparable D/A converter to match, instead of searc...

Why organ music
L2T - Isn't Jimmy Smith "the man." I have never heard the B3 talk the way he makes it talk. I have 4 recordings so far, and I plan on amassing his entire recording collection. Truly amazing!
Cambridge Audio 640R
For this price bracket...you have picked an outstanding choice in the Cambridge. FYI, Cambridge products are designed by former engineers from Tag McClaren (remember them) and Meridian. Very Good indeed. My next choice would be the Arcam. Very clo...
Anthem vs Krell vs Meridian
Hands down...Meridian. IMO, the Anthem doesn't come close. The Krell is better than before. So many hated Krell because its "cold." The designers have revamped a few things and its products have really improved over the recent year or so.However, ...
