I ended up getting the Son of Ampzilla II from Underwood, but there is a faint buzzing. It is on both channels regardless of what preamp or input source. :-(

Honestly. Yes. I did them one at a time so I could test the difference. Both the original fabric and the new impacted the sound. Both before and now, I'll remove them when listening. If I can find a fabric that doesn't, I'd definitely switch, but ...

@celander thanks. I think so too. I figured with the white walls, they'd be a bit less obtrusive dressed in tan.

Did them in Osnaburg. Basically like burlap but not as coarse (read: less "fuzzy"). I've read that the fuzz of burlap could dampen highs so I went with the Osnaburg instead. 
How did I do on this Amp?
@Shakeydeal: I am wondering what you mean by "lifeless sounding" - are you saying that it doesn't flavor the music? By all I've read they reportedly do a pretty decent job at recreating the original sound of recordings without flavoring them.@No-m... 
Speaker Recommendation for AR SP-3 pre w/ ML 332
I didn't have a lot of time, so I had to act on the ML ReQuests. Ended up getting them and the Logos Center for 2k, but by what I have managed to dig up, it seems like these should work well with my space and setup.
