Network Attached DAC?
Well, I would disagree with all three parts :)USB never been a consumer format, and Ethernet with all due respect cannot be considered not as premium, nor as office oriented product, especially these days. USB will never replace Ethernet just beca...
PC/Squeezebox v Mac Mini
IMHO, the far you place noisy PC from the system - the better (I don't mean just fan noise, but all kinds of electric noise, plus added vibration, etc).Squeezebox is supposed to perform a single simple function - get the data feed, and pass it to ...
Is this the future of the next CD player
This isn't the future, but one of the happening developments. One of more then popular themes in serious audio is minimalist approach, with shortest possible signal path, etc. Many attached to this idea. Such versatile devices as Olive don't fit t...

Best Used Bang for Buck if I Finally SWITCH ?
I'd never trade PC's flexibility to MAC's "reliability". Get a good, I mean - good (have I mentioned "good"?) hardware, install XP Pro, and then tell me you have to reboot your PC every minute. Most PCs are mass market crap from hardware perspecti...
Dedicated CD Player Recommendation
As per what you explained you really like a clean and detailed sound. I'd say go SimAudio, I've got their Nova for almost two years, and it's just a fantastic player. While there are many players with soft, velvety sound, if you're about cleaness ...
US Gear overseas - Voltage Conversion Questions
When you switch between 100 and 220 your unit continues to work in its native mode, with the least impact on sound, if any, so for units with switches I wouldn't even think about transformers.CD player has low power consumption, so you can get rel...
