Review: Fritz Carrera BE speakers
I too am smitten by the sound of Fritz Cararra 7 BE speakers. I like them so much, I just put my Legacy Audio FOCUS SE towers up for sale! I've been a Legacy Audio FOCUS owner for over 18 years, but the Cararra BEs have much better top to bottom i...
Cannot find perfect sound
I'm sad that there's no way to react to posts here. Regardless, I agree strongly with those here who point to the listening room as the likely source of the OP's failure to find a loudspeakers + room system that delivers satisfying temporal accura...
What would you choose for about $1k, ZU DW, SVS Ultra bookshelf or Tekton Lore?
Gosh...anytime you can get a $2,250 pair of loudspeakers directly from the manufacturer for $1k, I'd say go for it. Well done! I have not heard the Omen, but based on other Zu products that I've experienced, I'm sure they will impress.I'm actually...
Downsizing Speakers in Main Listening Room - Your Feedback on Some options
The best way that I've found to improve the sound of a system at low volumes is to add room treatments. If you can improve the articulation of the room, everything will sound better at lower levels.
Who listens primarily to Redbook CD?
What is the alternative? Vinyl or or tape?If you're primarily listening to digital, you're also primarily listening to Redbook CD resolution source material...discs, files, or streams. Kind-of the only option for now. MQA streaming is coming along...
Class D is just Dandy!
I'm using a little HiFiBerry AMP+ that's mounted on top of a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B in our family room to drive some old JBL 4311B studio monitors. The RPi is running Roon Bridge, so it serves as a Roon output. This combination sounds surprisingly...
Please Critique my Setup and Recommend Upgrade(s)
Another +1 for Tekton Designs Double Impacts. Do some research, read some reviews, and get a pair in for a month or two. I'm pretty sure they will take things in the right direction. http://www.tektondesign.com/test.html
Best $500 System?
Sorry to hear that your friend is going through a rough time. Music is certainly good medicine. Is she interested in a casual, soothing background music experience, or sitting in the sweet spot in a dark room and doing active listening?
Help in selecting 1 of 3 amplifiers
Not on the OP's original list, but another +1 for PrimaLuna. A friend's LS50's really sing with this integrated. Seems to be a popular combination. http://www.primaluna-usa.com/prologue-premium-integrated
Up to $4500 burning a hole in my pocket

What are the smallest speakers that are clean and flat down to 20hz?
I suppose the fancy way is to use something like this.http://www.digitalaudioreview.net/2016/09/waiting-for-the-bass-to-drop-with-devialets-samlab/
Killer Floor Standing Speakers under $4000 for Rock?
I'm curious to know what these things sound like (although not quite curious enough to buy them):https://www.amazon.com/Cerwin-Vega-XLS-215-3-Way-Audio-Speaker/dp/B002JGXNHU/Anyone have a pair?
Killer Floor Standing Speakers under $4000 for Rock?
@falconquest  - have to agree. I've driven our FOCUS SEs with McCormack DNA-1, Wyred 4 Sound mAMP monoblocks, and even a Sanders ESL. I have yet to try tubes, but I'm consistently blown away by the performance of Bill's loudspeakers with solid state.
What are the smallest speakers that are clean and flat down to 20hz?
I still maintain that this is a silly exercise for several reasons:LF extension without distortion figures is kind-of meaninglessMost sounds below ~32Hz are from environmental noise rather than musicRoom size and in-room response is a huge factor....
What are the smallest speakers that are clean and flat down to 20hz?
I'll need to find a way to download that Phil Collins track as a WAV or MP3 to test since I'm using digital room correction. Might be able to get the audio from Youtube to stream over DLNA as well, but I have not looked into it.In my case, the lou...
