Speaker design customer feedback
We need speaker designers to take more consideration of the following:1. Speakers that sound good at low volume. So many only open out at high volumes. 2. Also speakers that don't demand to be situated in free space - in the uk we have small rooms... 
Does anyone leave their amp and preamp on all the time?
Vitus Integrated amp stays on in Class AB all the time.  I listen in class A then switch to class AB after listening.  It takes hours to sound at its best from cold if I move it to standby.  Vitus CDP/DAC is on all the time too.I leave all the com...

@prof - you asked about the Boenicke sound.   The Boenicke W8 which I home demoed had the most spacious, 3 dimensional sound I have heard.  And this was not even the SE model, just the base version.   And so easy to listen to: not warm as such but... 
Yesteryears' expensive speakers compared to modern moderately expensive speakers
The problem with not buying new is the fact that there is usually no way to listen to the speakers in your room and with your ears prior to purchase. This is so key, especially with speakers, since your room will change the sound, even if you did ...

New or Old CD Player?
The Vitus RCD is a wonderful sounding cdp. You can pick up a second hand one within your budget, if you can find one on the market.   Vitus CD players are the most analogue sounding digital sources I have heard.  
Should I eliminate my preamp?
I’m confused. As you have listened to the system both ways surely you are best placed to know the answer?   It's like asking "I have a Californian and a French red wine, both of which I have tasted before.  Which tastes better?"
