SPL - Pro Audio Blasphemy?
Very cool insights.I think having an entire rig of pro gear for home listening is not the way to go, but some areas could be helpful. As stated before, if you are going passive that would be the obvious area to acquire pro gear for. I remember lin...

Has anyone tried a First Watt J2 paired with some JBL 4425's?Or for that matter any of the First Watt models with the 4425's? I was curious about the synergy and if they have enough watts? Thanks

Great suggestions. I will look further into Tannoy. I am glad you told me that you talked to Nelson Pass, which gives me more reassurance. I could not find much on Tonian, I don't think they are represented in U.S. anymore.

Thanks you all for the great responses. As it turned out I have demoed both the Decapo's and the triangles and I found them both not to my liking. I can confirm that the efficiency of the Decapo's is below what is commonly known and it is not a go...

How much power for Merlin VSM speakers?
I know this is an old thread, but has anyone tried a First Watt J2 with the VSM's? I am having a hard time find the right speaker for this amp. Part of the difficulty lies in the fact that it goes down to 13 watts at 4 ohms.
Canary?
Thanks Teajay and Peter! I appreciate the information and endorsement. I will check out the review that you have written Teajay. I like that they are built in California, support my home state. They seem to be very well made from the little that I...
What is the best HEAVY METAL speaker?

What is the best HEAVY METAL speaker?
I think its lame that my post was censored even though it was not offensive, no bad language, and just expressed an opinion that is the minority on this site. Truly lame and keeps the fantasy of hi-fi alive. To paraphrase my previous post that die...
What is the best HEAVY METAL speaker?
Bless you for starting this thread. The hifi world has been discouraging of late because the lack "balls out" rock talk and fans. I never want to hear another Patricia Barber reference ever again on this site or from critics.I wish more manufactur...
Tonearm evolution
Thanks. I've read his blog several times. He goes through a lot of arms but really just states his opinion on the sound. I was looking for a more historical time-line from a technical stand point, i.e. "Who was the first to use a straight arm tube...
worst sounding great lps
Motorhead - Ironfist Jethro Tull - Too Old to Rock 'n' Roll I have a love/hate relationship with Stevie Wonder's 70's albums; some of the stuff is miked great but almost all the albums sound veiled and a little muffled. Yet the music is AWESOME.
