Okay......best single box reference CD player
In answer to your original question-The Playback Designs MPS 5 is the best single box reference CD player I've heard, by a HUGE margin. I've owned every iteration of the EMM Labs units- starting with the Modded Philips drive & DAC 6 up through...

What beats the Evolution Acoustics MM3 ??
Viper z- The gentleman who sold his MM3s, whose room you posted, sold his entire system and replaced each component with a significantly less expensive make and model. I don't believe that these sales, and subsequent purchases, were driven by the ...
What beats the Evolution Acoustics MM3 ??
Tboooe:Great point on hearing acuity. It would seem that a speaker that allows the listener to adjust the tweeter level would greatly help in addressing individual hearing differences- All models in the Evolution Acoustics line have adjustable rib...
What beats the Evolution Acoustics MM3 ??
Fiddler:In talking with the Kevin he said that no expense was spared for their application. More specifically I know that they use the most expensive capacitors available and that the internal wire rivals most high-end ($1000+/meter retail price) ...
What beats the Evolution Acoustics MM3 ??
Shadorne:The Dunlavy Vs are certainly a fantastic value, if you can find a used pair. As you know they're no longer being produced. Getting original factory drivers would probably be difficult at this point but, quite frankly, the origianl drivers...

Led Zeppelin-newly remastered
It appears, from the MODERNGUITAR link above, that the Page's early '90s digital transfers of the analog masters will be used for the various Mothership digital and vinyl offerings. I'm wondering which source was used for the Classic records reiss...

Anybody try aftermarket powercords on their Lenco's ?? I'm having Jean build me a Giant Plinth Lenco and am thinking about having him install an IEC to try various P.C.s. Would like to hear from people who have ACTUALLY TRIED AFTERMARKET POWERCORD...

Emm Labs Transport with other DAC?
I second Jtinn's comment..
Any experience with the new EMM CDSA SE ?
My CDSA now has upwards of 200 hours on it. This unit is absolutely REMARKABLE !! The initial bass bloat which others have commented on and I heard early on is gone. The bass is now tight and tuneful. The overall presentation is breathtakingly nat...
