Help with Cartridge selection
Dan_Ed I Like my system to sound as natural as possible. I love hearing the attack and decay of notes. I love detail..the sound of a sax players juicy reed, the harmonics caused by really good harmony between vocals and between instraments. I like...
Is the Basis 2001 a solid enough table to keep.
I did buy a new Denon DL103 to establish a base to work off of. My table should be here in a couple weeks. Thanks again to all!
Is the Basis 2001 a solid enough table to keep.
Thank you all for the comments and suggestion. I probably should have used the word "good" instead of great when asking for a reasonably priced Cartridge.
Is the Basis 2001 a solid enough table to keep.
I just sent a check off for a used Basis 2001 Signature w/ Vecter 4 arm. I am very much looking forward to setting up a quality analog rig (beats my Kenwood KD-52F and $50 cart.)It has been a long time! I have a new Denon DL103 but depending on wh...
Do Graham 2.0 and Vector 3 have same cutout?
I just talked with A.J. at Basis audio about the same subject. They are not the same bore. You would need to get the plinth plugged and re-drilled for the Vector.
Pass labs X-350 Love it or hate it
I've owned a X-350 (after many others), it was a good solid amp I was in the minority who thought it was more musical than the X-250. I moved on to the XA-160s...very musical, (best amps I have owned), than back in time to Aleph 3s, 2nd best amps ...
Is the Basis 2001 a solid enough table to keep.
I have set my sights on a used Basis 2001 or 2200 with a Vector 4 tonearm. Still considering what cartridge to use with my Jazz collection (now and future). I still have questions...the difference between the 2001 & the 2001 Signature...2200 &...
Is the Basis 2001 a solid enough table to keep.
Would you all choose a Basis 2001 over the Nottingham 294?I am shopping on audiogon and narrowed my search to these tables. The Basis I can buy set up with a Graham 2.2. The Nottingham 294 w/12" ace space arm. Or I could buy the tables and match w...
Vinyl comeback now, cassette tapes next?
... there is a place for all music reproduction. We all have different goals with different expectations.
Vinyl comeback now, cassette tapes next?
Nrenter- unless nostalgia is your motivation...prepare yourself for sonic disappointment. Having a great piece of audio history is a good thing, my 4 head Onkyo falls into that category... I also have recorded all my old vinyl (back in the early 9...
Vinyl comeback now, cassette tapes next?
I hooked my old Onkyo cassette player up to look for some recordings of old friends and I practicing and playing in small bars. Tried listening to copies of LPs I made before I gave them all away. Dolby A, Dolby B, Dolby C....had to put it back in...
Is the Sony xa5400es better than scd-1?
Okonard:I had the same experiance when I compared the scd-1 to the xa9000es side by side. Not as heavy duty as the old scd-1 but of equal build quality. I kept the xa9000es.
